AHA MEMBERSHIP DUES

The African Humanities Association (AHA) is committed to providing members across Africa with a secure, efficient, and affordable means of paying membership dues. To facilitate this, members may make payments through Access Africa or the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS), both of which are available through Access Bank Ghana.

Pan-Africa Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS)

The Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS) is a continent-wide financial market infrastructure developed to simplify and enhance cross-border payments within Africa. The platform enables individuals and businesses to make and receive payments in their respective local currencies, while participating banks handle the currency conversion and settlement process. For AHA members, PAPSS offers a convenient, secure, and cost-effective payment solution.

Transaction Cost

  • AHA Annual Membership Fee: US$30.00
  • PAPSS Transaction Fee: US$2.00 (flat fee)
  • Total Amount Payable: US$32.00 (or the equivalent in your local currency)

How to Pay via PAPSS

Making your membership payment through PAPSS is straightforward:
  1. Visit a participating bank in your country that offers PAPSS services.
  2. Initiate the payment in your local currency.
    • Your bank will calculate the equivalent of the US$30 AHA membership fee, together with the applicable US$2 PAPSS transaction fee, using the prevailing exchange rate.
  3. Your bank submits the transaction through PAPSS.
    • PAPSS securely processes and settles the payment between the sending bank and Access Bank Ghana, the Association’s banking partner.
  4. Access Bank Ghana receives the payment.
    • Once settlement is completed, the funds are credited directly to the African Humanities Association’s account.

Alternative Payment Option: Access Africa

Members may also make payments through Access Africa, which is available in countries where Access Bank has operations.

Transaction Cost

  • AHA Annual Membership Fee: US$30.00
  • Transaction Charges: US$7.00 plus 1.25% of the transaction amount
  • Total Amount Payable: Approximately US$37.38 (or the equivalent in your local currency)
While Access Africa remains available, members should note that the applicable transaction charges are significantly higher than those under PAPSS.
