About the Conference
The 2026 African Humanities Biennial Conference, themed “Engaging Humanities, Social Sciences, and Arts Scholarship in Africa: Milestones and Aspirations,” brings together scholars, researchers, and practitioners to reflect on achievements, explore emerging directions in scholarship, and envision the future of humanities, social sciences, and arts research in Africa.

Upon arrival at Kotoka International Airport (Accra), participants have several convenient options to reach their hotel and the conference venue at the University of Ghana, Legon.

- Taxis & Ride-Hailing: Reliable taxi services and ride-hailing apps such as Uber and Bolt operate from the airport, offering quick access to East Legon and nearby areas.
- Conference Venue Access:
- Hotels located on or near the University of Ghana campus (Yiri Lodge, Africana Guest House, Vikings Hostel, Volta Hall Guest Rooms) are within walking distance or a short drive.
- Other hotels provide complimentary shuttle buses to the conference venue, especially during morning sessions.
- Local Transport: For participants staying farther away, taxis and ride-hailing apps remain the most convenient way to travel between hotels and the University campus.
